While healthcare organizations (HCOs) are increasingly committed to closing gaps in care delivered to patients with disabilities, knowing where to start, and how to move from policy to daily practice, remains a challenge.

This workshop will address those challenges head on. Speakers from a wide variety of health systems will share how they are putting disability access into practice, including what they’ve built, what they’ve learned, and the challenges they continue to face.

Speakers will offer concrete illustrations across topics such as building a disability accessibility program, operationalizing accommodations policies, implementing effective communication practices, and more.

This workshop is the first healthcare-specific training designed for teams working to implement accessible care, including: ADA, Section 504, and Section 1557 coordinators; interpreting services managers; health equity and quality improvement officers; and anyone whose role supports patients with disabilities in accessing care.
